Holaa!!
Siento no haber escrito en tanto tiempo, pero entre las vacaciones de marzo, semana santa y exámenes no he tenido mucho tiempo ^^".
¡Así que hoy escribo sobre todo este mes!
Este mes he hecho un montón de cosas jajaj. Fui a cenar a Boston Pizza con mi familia de acogida, porque los jugadores de hockey (Screaming Eagles) estaban sirviendo las mesas y podíamos conseguir autógrafos. Fue una cena muy divertida jaja.
También, fui a un colegio con otros tres estudiantes internacionales y mi coordinadora para explicar a los niños de grado 6 (6 de primaria) nuestra experiencia en Canadá, y también les enseñamos algunas palabras en nuestros idiomas (italiano, chino, japonés y español). Fue muy entretenido poder explicar cosas sobre nuestra experiencia y sobre nuestro país, de hecho había cosas que les sorprendieron, como que en España se cena a las 9-10 de la noche, y que los regalos de Navidad los tenemos el 6 de Enero. Esto les sorprendió, ya que en Canadá se cena a las 5-6, y los regalos de Navidad se dan el 25 de Diciembre.
También, celebre aquí St Patrick's day, y para ello fui con dos de mis amigas vestida de verde todo el día. La coordinadora, nos llevo a casa de unos amigos para que les despertáramos. Creo que a partir de ahora nos odiarán jajaj. También, fuimos a Starbucks y conseguimos una foto con uno de los camareros, ya que siempre van vestidos de verde, así que perfecto para St Patrick's day. Y por último, este día también fuimos a esquiar vestidas con la camiseta verde jaja.
Además, en este mes también he tenido las vacaciones de Semana Santa, y aquí la Semana Santa es muy diferente comparada con la de España. Cuando me levanté por la mañana, mi madre de acogida me dijo que tenía que encontrar los ocho huevos de colores que ella había escondido, y cuando los encontré me dio una camiseta de los Screaming Eagles y chocolate.
Luego, estuve cocinando con mi madre canadiense e hice decoraciones para el salón ya que por la tarde iba a cenar con toda la familia. Al acabar la cena, aprendí un juego de cartas que se llama tarbish, y por lo que me ha dicho mi madre canadiense, ¡este juego solo se juega en Cape Breton!
También, quiero mencionar que la temporada de hockey ya se ha terminado, y ahora se están jugando los playoffs. Lo que significa que si los Screaming Eagles pierden un partido más, estos están fuera y ya no juegan mas hasta septiembre :(. Así que la semana pasada me llevé la cámara al partido y saqué algunas fotos para enseñaros como son los partidos de hockey.
Por último, el fin de semana pasado fui a la playa, no para bañarme, solo de visita jaja. Y luego fui a St Petersfield  y pude dar de comer a unos pajaritos.
¡Han sido unas vacaciones geniales! Todavía no me puedo creer que ya han pasado 7 meses desde que llegue a Canadá!

Hello!!
I'm sorry that I didn't write anything, but between March break, Easter and tests I didn't have time to write ^^".
So today I'm writing about this whole month!
This month I have done a lot of things hahaha. I went for supper to Boston Pizza with my host family, because the hockey players (Screaming Eagles) were serving the tables and you could get autographs from them. It was a really fun dinner haha.
Also, I went to a middle school with other three international students and my coordinator to explain to the grade 6 students about our experience in Canada, and we also taught them some words in our languages (italian, chinesse, japanesse and spanish). It was really fun to explain our experiences here, and to tell them about our home countries. There were things that they were suprised about, such as that in Spain we eat supper at 9-10 in the night, and we get our Christmas presents the 6th of January. They were surprised about it, because in Canada supper is at 5-6, and the Christmas presents are given the 25th of December.
Also, I celebrated here St Patrick's day, and for that two of my friends and I dressed up in green the whole day. Our coordinator, took us to a friends house to wake them up. I think that now they will hate us haha. Also, we went to Starbucks and we took a picture with one of the waiters because his uniform is green so is perfect for St Patricks day. Finally, we went skiing and we wore our green t-shirts haha.
Also, during this month I had the Easter break, and here Easter is really different compared with the Easter from Spain. When I woke up in the morning, my host-mum told me that I had to find the eight color eggs that were hidden in the house. When I found them, she gave me a Screaming Eagles t-shirt and chocolate.
After that, I cooked with my host-mum and I made decorations for the living room, because we were going to have turkey dinner with all the family. After eating, I learnt how to play a card game that is called tarbish, and my host mum told me that this game is only played in Cape Breton!
Also, I want to mention that the hockey season is over, and now the hockey teams are playing the playoffs. This actually means that if the Screaming Eagles lose one more game they are out and they won't play again until September :(. So last week I took my camera to one of the games and I took some pictures to show you how a hockey game looks like.
Finally, last weekend I went to the beach, not for swimming just for visiting haha. And later I went to St Petersfield to feed some little birds.
This holidays have been amazing! I still can't beleive that I have spent already 7 months in Canada!

Holaaa!! Bueno, ya llevo 5 meses aquí y se me han pasado muy rápido.
En esta entrada voy a hablar sobre todo lo que he aprendido en estos cinco meses y también quiero escribir sobre algunas cosas de las que me he dado cuenta desde que estoy aquí.
Desde que he llegado aquí no he parado de hacer cosas, he ido a patinar, he ido a esquiar, he aprendido a hacer mermelada, hice truco o trato en Halloween, me bañe en el mar el 1 de Enero...
Pero estas actividades no son lo más importante de esta experiencia. A parte de pasármelo bien, estoy viviendo una vida totalmente diferente a la que viviría en España, ya que el viajar a otro país te da la opción de aprender de su cultura y sus costumbres.
La forma de vida en Canadá es muy diferente a la de España, las casas son diferentes, todo el mundo es muy tranquilo y respetuoso, y todas estas cosas se pueden ver reflejadas hasta en el colegio. En la zona en la que yo estoy me ha llamado mucho la atención la educación, el respeto y cordialidad de los canadienses, tanto en el colegio, como conduciendo incluso en los partidos de hockey, en los cuales el ambiente podría volverse tenso. También, el sistema de educación aquí es diferente al de España, ya que aquí los alumnos solo tienen cuatro asignaturas por semestre. Pero aparte del número de asignaturas, aquí cada profesor tiene una clase, y es el alumno el que va a la clase que necesita. Además, todas las mañanas, suena el himno de Canadá en los altavoces y todos nos tenemos que levantar, cuando se acaba nos sentamos y acto seguido empieza la clase.
Otra cosa de la que me he dado cuenta, es de la cantidad de cosas que puedes aprender de amigos internacionales y de la amistad que vas a fijar con ellos. Una vez que viajas hasta aquí, todas las amistades que hagas te van a durar para siempre, y de esto me di cuenta cuando los estudiantes que se quedaban solo 5 meses tenían que volver ya de vuelta a su país de origen. Ese momento probablemente ha sido el peor que he vivido desde que estoy aquí. El hecho de tener amigos internacionales también te da la opción de aprender sobre su país y su forma de vida, y esto podría reflejarlo cuando hice sushi (comida japonesa) con mis amigos (mi amigo japonés nos enseñó cómo hacerlo).
Algo que para mí es de verdad muy importante, es que una vez que llegas aquí, tus padres ya no están contigo, y por lo tanto en lo que tienes un problema tienes que solucionarlo por ti mismo. No digo que no puedas pedir ayuda a tus padres, pero por mucho que pidas ellos no van a poder hacer mucho desde la otra punta del mundo. Creo que esto es algo importante, porque me ha ayudado a ser más independiente, y a darme cuenta de lo mucho que hacen mis padres por mí.

Helloo!! It has been 5 months since I’m here, and the time has gone so fast.

In this entry I’m going to talk about all of the things that I’ve learnt in this 5 months and I also want to write about some things that I realized since I’m here.
Since I arrived here, I have done a lot of things, I went skating, skiing, I have learnt how to make jam, I did trick or treat in Halloween, I swam in the sea the 1^st of January..

But all of this activities are not the important point of this experience. Even though I am having fun, I am living in a way that is totally different from the lifestyle in Spain, because when you travel to a different country you can learn about their culture and customs.

The lifestyle in Canada is very different compared with the one from Spain, the houses are different, ans something that caught my attention, was the education, respect and friendliness of the Canadians, and I can see this in the school, when people is driving and even in the hockey matches where sometimes the ambience can be tense.

 Another important thing that I want to point out is that I have learnt a lot of things from my international friends, and all the friendships that I have made are going to last forever. I realized this when my friends that were staying only for five months had to go back to their home country. Probably, this is the worst moment I have experienced since I’m here. When you have international friends you can learn a lot of things, and I realized this when I made sushi (Japanese food) with my friends (my Japanese friends showed us how to do it).
Finally, I want to say that one of the most important things that you should know when you travel is that your parents are not with you, so when you have a problem you have to solve it by yourself. This doesn’t mean that you can’t ask your parents, but you should know that they can’t do anything from the other side of the world. I think this experience has helped me to become more independent, and now I can see how much my parents do for me.

Holaa!! Hoy tengo tiempo de escribir un poco más porque hoy han cancelado el cole. ¡Snow day!  Como bien dice el nombre, hoy no he ido al colegio porque hay mucha nieve y el autobús no puede circular.
Lo bueno de este día es que no hay cole, lo malo es que no se puede salir a la calle así que hoy estoy todo el día en casa.
Ya que tengo tiempo de escribir hoy, aprovecho para contaros que los exámenes de final de semestre son en dos semanas. Para estos exámenes hay que estudiar todo lo que hemos visto en clase desde Septiembre así que no me viene mal un día sin colegio jajajaj.
Pondré fotos de la nieve en la siguiente entrada porque hoy no puedo salir a hacer una foto :(

Hello!! Today I have time to write because school is cancelled. Snow day!!
As the name says, today school is cancelled because of the snow and the buses can't drive.
The good thing about today is that I don't have to go to school, the bad thing is that I can't go outside, so today I'm stuck at home.
Now that I found time to write, I can say that the exams for the end of the semester are coming, they are in two weeks. For this exams I have to study everything that has been taught since September so is not so bad to have a day off haha
I will post pictures of the snow in the next entry because today I can't go outside :(

1 de Enero // 1st January

Holaaa!! Feliz año nuevo a tod@s! Espero que hayáis pasado unas navidades estupendas, yo hoy escribo sobre todo lo que he hecho estas Navidades aquí en Canadá.
Como ya conté en la entrada anterior, este año he decorado un árbol de verdad, no uno de plástico, y también he decorado el jardín con luces de colores.
Aquí la nochebuena y la nochevieja no se celebran, sólo se hace una comida de navidad (el 25 de Diciembre). Lo único que se celebra aquí el 24 es que viene Santa Claus, pero los regalos se abren el día de Navidad por la mañana.
La noche vieja se celebra con los amigos y normalmente hay fuegos artificiales y una cuenta atrás (aquí no se toman las 12 uvas como en España).
Estas Navidades también he ido a jugar con la nieve y los trineos y fui con algunos amigos a deslizarnos por la nieve y fue muy divertido. Si vas a venir a estudiar a Canadá te recomiendo que traigas tu ropa de esquí, por que hay mucha nieve y para este tipo de actividades es necesaria.
También hice Skype con toda mi familia el día de Navidad y me hizo mucha ilusión.
Y para empezar el 2016... ¡Polar Dip! Polar Dip consiste básicamente en meterse en el mar el 1 de Enero. Es una manera especial de celebrar el año nuevo, eso sí, siempre hay que abrigarse mucho que hace mucho frío y no creo que nadie se quiera poner malo jajaj.
Este año mis Navidades han sido diferentes pero eso no significa que no hayan sido buenas. ¡Ha sido genial!

Hello!! And Happy New Year to everybody! I hope you all had a perfect Christmas, I'm going to write today about my Canadian Christmas.
As I said in the previous entry, this year I decorated a real tree instead of a plastic one, and I also decorated the outside of the house with color lights.
Here, Christmas Eve and the last night of the year is not so important, the only day that is important is the Christmas Day (25th of December). The only thing that occurs on Christmas Eve is that Santa comes to the houses and leaves the presents, but the people open the presents on Christmas Day in the morning.
For the last night of the year, usually the kids meet their Friends and they go to a big fiddle where there are fireworks and a countdown (people in Canada don't take the 12 grapes like in Spain).
Also, this Christmas I have been playing with the snow and the sleds, I went with some Friends to a hill and we were sliding there, it was very fun. If you are travelling to Canada, I recommend you to bring your ski clothes because there's a lot of snow and it is necessary for this kind of activities in the outside.
Another thing that I did was Skype with my whole family, and that was very good.
And for starting 2016... Polar Dip! The Polar Dip consists basically in running inside the ocean and then run out in the 1st of January. It is a different way of celebrating the first day of the year, but when you are doing this the most important thing is that you have warm clothes for after because we don't want anybody to get sick haha.
This year my Christmas have been different, but that doesn't mean they weren't good. It was fantastic!

17 de Diciembre // 17th December

Hola!! Ya estamos a mediados de este mes y esta es mi primera entrada de diciembre porque no he tenido tiempo antes. Tengo un montón de cosas que contar jajaja, y prometo que durante las vacaciones escribiré más que tendré más tiempo.
A principios del mes, he ido con mi familia de acogida a comprar el árbol de navidad, y este año va a ser el primero que voy a tener un abeto de verdad, y no uno de plástico. Lo hemos decorado y me gusta mucho como ha quedado. También hemos puesto luces y cosas fuera de casa para decorar y está muy bonito. Además, estos días ha estado nevando bastante y todo esta súper blanco y las luces de las casas resaltan y todo es precioso.
Durante este mes, he tenido una fiesta de navidad con mi coordinadora y una fiesta de navidad en el colegio.
La fiesta de mi coordinadora estuvo divertida, tuvimos que hacer una comida típica de nuestro país, y yo hice churros con chocolate que a todo el mundo le gustaron. También, nos dieron gorros de Papá Noel y tuvimos que escribir "Merry Christmas" en nuestro idioma, en mi caso "Feliz Navidad".
Para la fiesta del cole nos tuvimos que vestir bien, pero no era algo muy importante. Esta fiesta era solo para estudiantes de grado doce y estudiantes internacionales.
También, esta semana nos han dado las sudaderas del colegio. Compré una hace un tiempo y las han repartido esta semana. Es roja, pone RHS (Riverview High School) y es muy calentita así que me gusta para el invierno jaja.

Hello!! We are more or less at the half of this month and this is my first entry in this month because I didn't have time before. I have lot of things to tell you hahah, and I promise that I will write more during the holidays that I will have more free time.
At the beginning of this month, I went with my host-family to buy the Christmas tree, and this is the first year that I will have a real tree instead of a plastic one. I have decorated it with my host-parents and I really like it. Also, we have decorated the outside with lights and it looks very pretty, because it has been snowing for the past few days and the lights stand out, it is beautiful.
During this month, I had a Christmas party with my coordinator and a Christmas party in the school.
The party with my coordinator was very fun, we had to do a typical dish from our country. I did churros with chocolate and everybody liked them. Also, my coordinator gave us Santa hats, and we had to write on them "Merry Christmas" but in our language, in my case "Feliz Navidad".
For the party in the school, we had to dress up nice, but it wasn't something very important, because it was only for grade twelve and international students.
Also, this week I got the sweater that I bought a few weeks ago in the school. It is red, it says RHS (Riverview High School) and it is very warm, so I like it for the Winter hahah.
